The brother-in-law of the Minister of Agriculture has become the Director General of Security for this ministry.
Mohammad Safaei Delouei, the representative of Gonabad and a member of the Economic Commission of the Parliament, reacted to the family appointments in Raisi’s government, especially in the Ministry of Agriculture, saying
About 174 years ago, the late Amir Kabir emphasized that a country cannot be run based on recommendations from one’s aunt or mother-in-law. Unfortunately, this is a longstanding tradition in our country where we encounter family appointments. Regrettably, Mr. Sadati Nejad, the Minister of Agriculture, appointed his brother-in-law, Mr. Nasiri, as the Director General of Security for the Ministry of Agriculture, despite him not having previously worked at this level. I have also mentioned this issue to the Minister of Intelligence. When such appointments are made, it means any deviation in the system will be covered up.
Recently, it was reported that some deputies were detained for a while, and one person who intended to expose issues was dismissed. Additionally, someone with a PhD in Geography was sent to UNESCO, which was unrelated to their expertise, implying they were given a favor to keep quiet. Furthermore, not long ago, another brother-in-law of the minister was arrested due to financial issues.
