The water of the Caspian Sea has receded up to 100 meters

ISNA News Agency has reported that field observations indicate a 10 to 100-meter retreat of Iran’s coastal lines in the Caspian Sea.

The report states that the release of images of the Farahabad Sari pier on social media and national media serves as a wake-up call in this regard. The wooden pier, which was built 50 meters deep into the sea a few years ago, is now more than 15 meters away from the coastal lines and has become an unused structure.

ISNA, quoting Masoumeh Bani Hashemi, the director of the National Center for Caspian Sea Studies and Research, reported a 38-centimeter decrease in sea level over the past three years and stated that since 1995, there has been a significant retreat in the coastal lines of the sea on the northern shores of the country, increasing the area of the coastal expanse.
