The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army: No Rational Person Can Accept Negotiations Under Pressure and Sanctions

The Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Army: No sane person can accept negotiations under pressure and sanctions.

Amid the ongoing maximum pressure and the proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump for negotiations with the Islamic Republic, Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Army, said on Sunday that no sane person can accept negotiations under pressure and sanctions.

He had previously rejected negotiations, emphasizing that we do not welcome war and chaos and do not like it, but if a war starts and something happens, we will defend Iran with power.

These remarks were made while the leader of the Islamic Republic announced on Saturday that the country would not enter negotiations under pressure. He made these statements a day after the U.S. President announced sending a letter to Tehran to negotiate over the nuclear agreement.

While expressing a desire for an agreement, Trump has reinstated the maximum pressure campaign against Tehran, which was implemented during his first presidential term. The goal of this policy has been declared as the economic isolation of Iran and reducing its oil exports to zero.
