The controversial Cybertruck pickup was launched to the market
The first series of Tesla Cybertruck deliveries to buyers and new information about this new generation electric pickup, Dacia’s affordable SUV, and a car inspired by a toy
After a long wait, the first series of Cybertruck pickups was delivered to customers. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, said at a ceremony held at the company’s factory in Texas that with the arrival of this pickup, the face of America’s streets will change forever.
Tesla showcased a concept of the Cybertruck four years ago, and production was supposed to start in 2021. However, Elon Musk said this spring that the innovation in the appearance and production method of the vehicle was so extensive that Tesla had to delay its release.
The appearance of the Cybertruck is completely different from existing pickups in the market. Tesla says that the design and engineering of pickups haven’t changed much in the past seventy years, and the company wanted to design its pickup with a fresh perspective.
For the first time in the automotive industry, the car’s body is made from a special alloy of stainless steel. Using this metal in the body has made the vehicle sturdier. Tesla showed in a video broadcast at last week’s ceremony that the Cybertruck’s body is bulletproof. The stainless steel is so strong that shaping it is not easy, which is one of the reasons for the unconventional design of the vehicle. The choice of this metal has led some analysts to doubt the feasibility of mass-producing the Cybertruck.
