The Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Trade Associations has destroyed any hope for even the slightest positive change.
The Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Trade Associations of Iran has called for a protest gathering of the country’s teachers on May 9th.
This organization has stated that due to the incompetence of those occupying managerial positions in the educational system, under the overall inefficiency of the executive system and the regime’s opposition to modern thought and education, any hope for even the slightest positive change has been destroyed. However, it continues to pursue the accumulated demands of working and retired teachers and the rights of students through all possible and civil methods as before.
The Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Trade Associations of Iran has cited intensified ideological indoctrination in textbooks, the improper implementation of the ranking law and its transformation from a tool to encourage teachers into a means of subjugating them, the more than a decade-long wait for pensioners’ salary equalization, and the creation of psychological insecurity and threats to the physical health of students, especially female students, as points of protest, for which a gathering is planned.
