The Egyptian government has officially invited Charles III, the King of Britain, to attend the major conference on combating climate change. This event, known as COP27 this year, will be hosted by Egypt in early November, with the presence of many of the world’s most prominent political, economic, and scientific figures.
This official invitation from the Egyptians to the King of Britain is essentially a re-invitation. Liz Truss, the resigned Prime Minister, had little interest in climate change policies and had established strong ties with energy companies. She had officially blocked the King’s trip to Egypt and participation in the major climate change conference. Now that Truss has left, the Egyptians have sent the invitation again.
