The European Union raised the possibility of lifting Iran’s nuclear sanctions
Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, announced that if a nuclear agreement is reached, EU member states will discuss lifting sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program.
On Thursday evening, before the European Council meeting in Brussels, Kallas referred to the sanctions imposed on Iran and stated that the EU has a range of different sanctions against Tehran.
He further added that if there is a nuclear agreement, I think the EU member states will discuss lifting these sanctions.
The statements of the EU foreign policy chief come at a time when, following the recent memorandum between Iran and the US, speculations about the future of international sanctions against Iran have increased.
