The European Union representative is calling for the extension of the special rapporteur’s mandate in Iran.

Prior to the presentation of Javaid Rehman’s new report on the human rights situation in Iran, the European Union and French representatives called for the extension of the special rapporteur’s mandate and expressed concern about the dire human rights situation in Iran.

Representatives from Israel, Macedonia, and Luxembourg also expressed concern about the executions, suppression of minorities, and illegal detentions of women and religious minorities.
