The Final Court Session of the Accused in the Ekbatan Case Was Held

The final court session for the defendants in the Ekbatan case was held

Reza Shafakhah, a lawyer, says the final court session for the defendants accused of murdering a Basij cleric, known as the Ekbatan case, was held in Branch 13 of the Tehran Criminal Court, and the verdict will be issued soon.

Mr. Shafakhah, who is the lawyer for Hossein Nemati, one of the defendants in this case, wrote on his social media account on X that today, January 8th, the final hearing for the case known as Ekbatan was held, and the last defense was presented on behalf of Hossein Nemati. We are awaiting the court’s verdict.

According to human rights media, Milad Armon, Alireza Kafaei, Amir Mohammad Khoshaghal, Alireza Barmarzpournak, Mehdi Hosseini, Hossein Nemati, Mehdi Imani, and Navid Najaran, who were arrested during the nationwide protests of 2022, are being tried in this case.

The judiciary has charged these individuals with participation in murder, waging war against God, and gathering and conspiring against national security.

This case is related to the murder of a Basij member in the Ekbatan complex.
