The Government of Pakistan will soon begin the second phase of deporting Afghan nationals.
With the implementation of the plan to repatriate undocumented Afghan nationals from Pakistan, which began in November this year, and so far half a million have returned to their country, the Islamabad government will start the second phase of deporting Afghan nationals in the coming weeks.
According to Pakistani media, despite the dissatisfaction of Afghan officials and international organizations with the decision of the Pakistani government to deport illegal Afghan nationals, this process has not stopped, and so far more than half a million Afghans have been forced to return to their country.
The unexpected decision by the Pakistani government in late October 2023 to deport Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country has severely impacted the already strained relations between the two neighboring countries.
