The Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association Announced Its Existence with Support for Protests

The Independent Filmmakers Association of Iran announced its establishment in support of the protests.

A group of Iranian filmmakers and cinema artists, both inside and outside the country, announced the formation of a new organization called the Independent Filmmakers Association of Iran on Monday. They released their first statement outlining their goals as follows:

1. Striving to prevent the suppression and killing of innocent and distressed people in Iran. 2. Seeking unconditional freedom for all political prisoners and dissidents, including filmmakers, artists, and journalists. 3. Attracting the attention of filmmakers and artists worldwide to the global importance of this progressive movement in resisting any form of obscurantism. 4. Exposing the Islamic regime’s propaganda policies, such as the infiltration of government agents in international cultural circles, the screening of films, the presence of governmental representatives at festivals, as well as the pressure, threats, and bribery of media.
