Jomhouri Eslami Newspaper: Raisi’s Government is Neither the Ruler of the Dollar nor the Rial

In its editorial, Jomhouri Eslami Newspaper wrote that when the thirteenth government took over from its predecessor, the dollar was 24,000 tomans, and now it is over 60,000 tomans, meaning it has more than doubled.

The criminals are not only those who commit corruption on earth; individuals who play a role in the rise of foreign currency prices in various ways are also criminals, and this crime should be called corruption in currency, as some imaginative people have suggested.

The deplorable state of our national currency is the result of impulsive decisions made in the economic arena, as well as the foreign currency facilities and credits given without criteria to profiteers, one example being the tea import corruption scandal, known as the ‘Debesh corruption.’

The smoke from these kinds of decisions that fall upon the economy affects the people whose tables are now empty of meat and fruit, and who keep their spirits up despite the hardships. Will there ever be a day when the extensive file of currency corruption is addressed?
