The Islamic Republic of Iran Calls for Boycott of Israel in the Olympics

The Islamic Republic of Iran called for the boycott of Israel in the Olympics

On Tuesday, July 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic condemned the reception and protection of Israeli athletes at the Paris Olympic Games and demanded their expulsion due to Israel’s military actions in Gaza.

The ministry emphasized in a post on the former Twitter network X that welcoming and supporting the Israeli delegation is equivalent to legitimizing the killers of children.

Previously, the Palestinian Olympic Committee also called for Israel’s exclusion from the Paris Olympic Games before they began.

Israeli athletes arrived in France on Monday, July 23, amid international protests over the rising civilian casualties and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, under tight security measures.

In February, the Iranian Football Federation sent a letter to FIFA requesting the suspension of the Israeli football team.
