The Israeli army is preparing to counter potential Iranian maritime threats
On Sunday, April 23, Israel announced that it is preparing to face a severe maritime situation and counter potential attacks by the Islamic Republic and its proxy groups in the Red Sea.
The Israeli army emphasized that the Lebanese Hezbollah group possesses dozens of land-to-sea missiles that could target ships, oil platforms, and sensitive Israeli facilities along the Red Sea coast.
According to the Ynet website, the Israeli Navy, in addition to commissioning more submarines and vessels, has expanded the use of artificial intelligence and is simultaneously working on creating a maritime Iron Dome system.
On April 9, the American newspaper The New York Times, citing Western and Israeli intelligence sources, wrote that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is preparing for a drone attack on ships owned by Israel in the regional waters to retaliate for the killing of two IRGC members in one of Israel’s recent attacks in Syria.
