The Job Interview Led Walz to the Deputy Position

The job interview propelled Walz to the vice presidency.

Now, Walz’s team has been introduced as Harris’s vice presidential pick for the U.S. elections. Various aspects of what led him to this achievement have been revealed, while some were already apparent. Until last week, Walz had very little chance compared to Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania.

As the governor of Minnesota, he was neither well-known nor was his state as electorally significant as a state like Pennsylvania.

However, the beginning of efforts by various groups to elevate him to the vice presidency drew attention to him.

Walz conducted several excellent interviews with various networks and held some very good campaign meetings for Harris.

He engaged with several well-known liberal and progressive figures, participated in their podcast interviews, and performed excellently. Both the efforts of extremist progressive anti-Semites against Shapiro and the interest of the most prominent Democrat figure these days, Nancy Pelosi, in Walz, strengthened his position. Ultimately, on the day of Harris’s interview, it came down to three final candidates: Walz, Shapiro, and also Mark Kelly, the senator from Arizona. Apparently, Mark Kelly had already lost his chance, leaving the other two as the final options.

Harris’s interview with Shapiro showed her that this passionate and highly impressive governor had a level far beyond her own, with motivations and aspirations so high that he clearly had an eye on the presidency in the future, and his capability and charisma would overshadow Harris.

High caliber, intelligence, and charisma were the main reasons for sidelining the young Democratic Party star Pete Buttigieg from the vice presidency options as well. But Walz played his cards right. In the interview with Harris, he explicitly stated that he was there to assist as vice president and had no goals, jobs, or plans for the future other than helping Harris. His high spirit, good humor, and complete camaraderie and empathy with Harris led the interview entirely in Walz’s favor, and he sealed the deal with this interview. Now, Walz stands as a progressive figure alongside Harris. Republicans are trying to portray Walz as an extreme progressive, which will likely not have much impact since he is known for his moderation during his time in Congress and has unique traits and features like an interest in guns and hunting. Walz is a very charismatic personality who knows how to act and perform shows in an astonishing way.
