The journalist who recorded Navalny’s last video before his death was arrested

Antonina Favorskaya, a journalist who filmed the last video of Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition politician, before his death, was arrested by the country’s authorities.

Favorskaya had been covering Navalny’s trials for several years. Reporters Without Borders, an organization supporting media freedom, announced on Thursday that she is one of six journalists arrested across Russia this month.

A Russian human rights group named OVD-Info reported that Russian authorities arrested Favorskaya late on Wednesday and accused her of participating in an extremist organization by publishing content on social media from Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation.
