The judiciary has not overturned the death sentence of Hamid Ghareh Hassanlou

According to Iranian media, the judiciary stated in a statement that up to this moment, a final verdict has not been issued, and the case of the defendants is under review in the Supreme Court, following its judicial and natural course. Therefore, correspondence in this regard is not relevant.

The Etemad newspaper reported that after a letter of request from a political figure to high-ranking officials of the regime, this sentence was overturned.

Dr. Hamid Ghareh Hassanlou, a 53-year-old doctor, is one of five people sentenced to death for allegedly killing a Basij member. His wife has also been sentenced to 25 years of exile.
