The Killing of Momen Zand Karimi, an 18-Year-Old Teenager in Sanandaj

Momen Zand Karimi, an 18-year-old teenager from Sanandaj, was killed on November 2nd by direct gunfire from officers in Sanandaj. Under pressure from security forces, his body was transferred to his parents’ hometown village of Machkeh and buried.

According to witnesses and local sources, this student, who also worked as a private driver, was not participating in any protests. After hours of driving passengers along the Behesht Mohammadi route, he was gunned down while parking his car near his residence.

According to Ubaid Zand Karimi, Momen Zand Karimi’s father, he was shot in the shoulder with live ammunition on Siros Street and succumbed to his severe injuries and heavy bleeding a few hours later at Touhid Hospital in Sanandaj.
