The Latest Case of Iran’s Esteghlal Club in FIFA

A new case has been opened for Iran in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) due to a complaint from a Portuguese club.

When Iran’s Esteghlal Club intended to recruit Iranian player Mohammad Mohebi from Portugal’s Santa Clara club, they might not have imagined that even the loan transfer of this player would turn into a major financial issue for the Blues.

Esteghlal Club was supposed to pay for Mohebi’s transfer in two installments as per the agreement with Santa Clara, but now it’s been a long time since only $90,000 of the second installment, amounting to $230,000, has reached the Portuguese club.

For this reason, Santa Clara has filed a complaint with FIFA to claim their rights. If Santa Clara wins this case in FIFA, in addition to the financial amount, Mohammad Mohebi will also have to leave Esteghlal and return to Portugal.
