The leader of the Islamic Republic attributed the removal of hijab to the enemy
Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, has once again addressed the issue of mandatory hijab in his latest remarks
In a meeting with the heads of the branches and a group of government officials, he described the hijab as a religious and legal obligation and stated that removing the hijab is a religious and political sin
He said that many of those who remove their hijab would certainly not do so if they knew the policy behind their actions
He described the act of removing the hijab as an enemy’s plan and called for the implementation of a program to counter it
This is not the first time that the leader of the Islamic Republic has addressed this issue in the months following the death of Mahsa Amini and the subsequent protests
In December, during the protests, he stated that Islamic hijab for women is undoubtedly a religious necessity and inviolable
Mr. Khamenei’s recent statements come at a time when many Iranian women have abandoned the mandatory hijab in public places in recent months
