The creators and producer of the film My Favorite Cake were sentenced to suspended imprisonment and fines for the charge of propaganda against the regime.
Behtash Sanaeeha, who directed the film My Favorite Cake alongside Maryam Moghaddam, shared the details of the sentences issued for the directors, the first and second defendants, and Gholamreza Mousavi, the film’s producer as the third defendant, on his Instagram page.
According to this, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moghaddam, the two directors of the film, to 14 months of suspended imprisonment for five years and a fine of 40 million tomans for the charge of propaganda against the regime.
These three individuals were also sentenced to one year of suspended imprisonment for five years and confiscation of all equipment for the charge of participating in producing obscene content, and for the charge of screening the film without a display license, they were fined 20 million tomans and the seizure of all related equipment.
The film My Favorite Cake tells the story of the love of Mahin, a woman alone at the age of 70.
