The Minister of Communications reported seven instances of deliberate sabotage on fiber optic lines.
The Minister of Communications of the thirteenth government, coinciding with the start of early presidential elections, claimed that there were seven instances of deliberate sabotage on the country’s fiber optic routes.
On Friday, July 8th, Isa Zarepour, during a visit to the monitoring room of the Ministry of Interior, announced the connection of 58,600 stations to online identity verification and inquiry systems, stating that more than 400 teams monitored 700,000 kilometers of fiber routes both on the ground and from the air.
Zarepour also reported seven instances of deliberate sabotage on fiber optic lines in the past 24 hours and said that connection teams immediately restored communications. According to Zarepour, in some cases, the ground was dug up to two meters deep for the sabotage.
According to the announcement by the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic, the process of verifying voters in the fourteenth presidential election will be conducted electronically to ensure that a person voting at one station has not voted at another. In this election, unlike previous ones, the stamp of participation in the election will not be recorded in the voters’ identification documents.
