The Minister of Energy will pursue the Hirmand water rights from Afghanistan
Aliakbar Mehrabian, the Minister of Energy, stated that securing water through Hirmand from Afghanistan is the right of the Iranian nation, and according to international protocols, this water must definitely be provided, and we are pursuing it.
The sea water transfer project is being implemented at a relatively good pace. Over the past year, this project has progressed more than 12%. A significant portion of the eastern aquifer transfer project has been executed, and soon water will reach Zahedan.
The water supply project for the Sistan region is being implemented by drilling 120 wells. In other words, the world’s largest land-based desalination plant is being executed.
