The Misery Index in Six Iranian Provinces Exceeded 60 Units

The misery index in six provinces of Iran exceeded 60 units.

Statistical data regarding the level of misery reveals the decline in the welfare of the Iranian people over the past year.

Data from the Statistics Center on Iran’s economic situation in the fall of 2023 indicates a significant increase in the misery index in 25 provinces. According to this report, the misery index in seven provinces—Lorestan, Kermanshah, Yazd, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Sistan and Baluchestan, and Kurdistan—has surpassed the national average and exceeded the rate of 60 units, while the national misery index has reached 52 units.

The economic website Eco Iran, while analyzing the statistical data from the Iran Statistics Center, wrote that in the fall, the average misery index in urban areas of Iran was 52.3 units, and in rural areas, it was over 51 units.

The studies show that from the fall of 2022 to this fall, the misery index in urban areas of 25 provinces in Iran increased, with the cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province leading the way.
