The spokesperson for the Competition Council in Iran has stated that the offering of cars on the Iran Commodity Exchange has been completely canceled
According to the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA), Esmaeil Shojaei said that the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has also agreed that car sales should be conducted through the centralized system announced by the ministry itself
Mr. Shojaei stated that some registrations have been made for pre-sale of cars, and the mechanism for car sales is being conducted through lotteries and queueing
The spokesperson for the Competition Council said that selling cars on the commodity exchange is detrimental to consumers
Mr. Shojaei, stating that nowhere in the world are cars sold auction-style on a commodity exchange, said that offering cars on the exchange was a temporary and mistaken decision, and the Competition Council has opposed this method of offering and selling cars on the exchange from the beginning
Talks about offering cars on the commodity exchange began in the second half of 2021 and were implemented in the second month of 2022
The role of the Competition Council is to facilitate private sector activities in the economic arena to reduce investment risks in this sector
