The Parliament’s Joint Commission agreed to the import of electric cars
A member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has announced that the Joint Commission has agreed to the import of electric cars into Iran. Mohsen Dehnavi, the vice president of the Joint Commission, stated that today, Monday, January 15th, the commission approved the import of electric cars and the reduction of import duties for these vehicles.
According to him, the revenue from customs duties on the import of electric cars is intended to be used as incentives for the development of domestic electric car production.
Recently, the Trade Promotion Organization announced the issuance of a resolution for the import of electric cars.
Based on this, the tariff for electric cars valued between 20,000 to 30,000 euros is set at 11 percent, and the tariff for electric cars over 30,000 euros is set at 26 percent.
The head of this organization has stated that the import of American electric cars, regardless of price, is restricted. As a result, cars like Tesla are subject to this restriction.
