The head of the Medical System Organization warns about the vacancy in the residency capacity of specialized fields
The head of the Medical System Organization announced that there are vacancies in the residency capacity of some specialized fields, including Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and Emergency Medicine, and stated that statistics indicate the medical community will face challenges in the future.
According to ISNA, on Sunday, April 22nd, Mohammad Raeeszadeh warned about the serious issues and challenges facing the medical community, stating that the solution to this crisis is not merely increasing the admission capacity of specialized fields.
He said if these challenges and issues related to the state of the medical community are not resolved, the country’s health system will face a crisis, and resolving it will not be simple.
Mr. Raeeszadeh also described the depletion of doctors in the country as a serious crisis in August 2023 and warned about the future of Iran’s health sector.
Meanwhile, in recent years, many warnings have been issued about the potential significant decrease in the number of doctors and nurses in Iran, coinciding with the rising wave of migrations in these fields.
