The proposal to block six billion dollars of Iranian money in Qatar was approved

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a proposal that prevents Iran from accessing the $6 billion that was previously released in a prisoner exchange.

This action was taken in response to the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israel.

According to this resolution, the Biden administration is required to permanently block the $6 billion of Iranian assets that were previously unfrozen in connection with the release of five American prisoners.

This Republican-backed resolution, which will go to the Senate for final approval, also includes sanctions against funds and individuals involved in this transfer.
