Reaction of the Iranian Writers’ Association to the Serial Poisonings

The Iranian Writers’ Association reacted to the serial poisoning of female students by issuing a statement titled ‘Women, the Perpetual Victims, This Time Schoolgirls in the Sacrificial Altar of Obscurantism.’

In part of this text, it is mentioned that more than 5 months have passed since the people’s freedom-seeking movement, and not only has there been no change in the inhumane behavior of the Islamic Republic towards its opponents, especially women, but the cruelty, violence, and harshness towards women have intensified.

The text also refers to instances of violence against women, including honor killings and acid attacks, stating that the regime has not only failed to devise a plan to end this domineering misogyny but has also fueled it by promoting superstition, reactionary ideas, and employing widespread censorship.
