The specter of nuclear war over Ukraine
For decades, children in America and the Soviet Union were taught what to do in the event of a nuclear war. Although years have passed since the nuclear crisis between the two countries, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it now seems that concerns in this regard have resurfaced.
Just a few days had passed since Moscow’s attack began in February when Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, ordered his country’s nuclear forces to be on alert. Washington called such an action dangerous and irresponsible, warning the Kremlin about catastrophic consequences.
