The spokesperson for the Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and the Guidance Patrol should first address the celebrities.
Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ali Khanmohammadi, the spokesperson for the Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue, responded to recent controversies regarding the determination of fines for improper hijab and said, ‘We completely deny this issue. How can a plan that has not been approved be implemented?’
He added that Khanmohammadi, in response to some controversies regarding modesty and hijab, told Tasnim, ‘We stated from the beginning that improper hijab is not a crime, but rather an infraction, and it should be dealt with accordingly.’
The spokesperson for the Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue mentioned that we have also provided guidelines in the domain of the promotion of virtue to government agencies, one of the criteria of which was modesty and hijab. The responsibility of the headquarters is to communicate and oversee this plan because from the start, we insisted that the modesty and hijab plan should begin with government agency offices. Our guidance patrol should first address the norm-breaking celebrities, those who are role models for the people.
