The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health stated that Tehran, Mashhad, and Isfahan were the main centers of the December protests.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that during the recent wave of protests, the three populous provinces of Tehran, Razavi Khorasan, and Isfahan experienced more protests and clashes than other parts of the country.
Hossein Kermanpour, referring to the condition of the injured, said that about 100 people affected by the protests are admitted to intensive care units, and most of the clashes are related to the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, and Razavi Khorasan.
According to him, nearly 13,000 surgeries have been performed on the injured so far, and about 300 people are still hospitalized.
The exact number of those killed, injured, and arrested during the December 2025 protests remains disputed. The government of Masoud Pezeshkian released a list stating that the identities of 2,986 of those killed have been identified, and 131 remain unidentified.
In contrast, human rights organizations speak of a widespread massacre and have questioned these figures. Some investigative reports have also pointed out errors and inconsistencies in the list announced by the government.
