The Supreme Council of the Nursing System: The migration of nurses has reached a crisis point

A member of the Supreme Council of the Nursing System said that the migration of nurses has reached a crisis point and it is necessary for the government to address this crisis.

Abolqasem Abutalebi added that according to the pre-planned schedule, by the horizon of 2025, the nurse-to-bed ratio was supposed to be 25 nurses per bed, and by the end of the sixth program, it was supposed to be 18 nurses per bed, but this has not been achieved.

He continued, it is not befitting of our health system to train nurses within the country and then have them migrate to other countries. Last year, nearly 3,000 people migrated, while our colleges train about 10,000 personnel, and this level of emigration is a disaster.

The member of the Supreme Council of the Nursing System added that the migration of nurses is no longer just a problem; it has reached a crisis point, and it is necessary for our statesmen and those responsible who hear these statistics to address this crisis.
