The Taliban Has No American Citizens Imprisoned in Afghanistan

The Taliban says no American citizens are imprisoned in Afghanistan.

After the US Secretary of State’s remarks about Washington’s efforts to free several of its citizens in Afghan prisons, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated that no American nationals are being held in Afghan prisons.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, said that no American citizens are imprisoned in Afghanistan.

Recently, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that the country is trying to free several American citizens who are detained by the Taliban.

Speaking in Congress about the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, he clarified that Taliban officials have detained several Americans.
