The European Union’s tenth sanctions package against Russia was approved
One day after the anniversary of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the European Union approved its tenth sanctions package against Russia, committing to increase pressure on Moscow until Ukraine is liberated.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, stated in a tweet that we now have the most extensive sanctions, which can destroy Russia’s war arsenal and severely impact its economy.
The President of the European Commission also added that the EU will increase pressure on those who intend to circumvent Europe’s sanctions.
Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign policy chief, also warned that the union will continue to impose more sanctions on Moscow.
Mr. Borrell said we will continue these pressures as long as necessary and until Ukraine is freed from Russia’s brutal invasion.
He also added that these sanctions target the banking sector and Moscow’s access to technologies that can be used for advanced civilian and military purposes.
