The Trial for the Bloody Friday Has Begun, Says Molavi Abdul Hamid

Molavi Abdul Hamid: The trial for the Bloody Friday has begun.

Molavi Abdul Hamid, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, has announced the start of the trial related to the Bloody Friday in Zahedan.

Abdul Hamid Ismaeilzahi wrote on his Twitter account that the court for the crime of Zahedan’s Bloody Friday was convened after a long wait with the summoning of a few police officers.

He further criticized the way this trial was conducted, stating that the commanders of this crime and the involved Revolutionary Guard and Basij members were never held accountable.

Zahedan’s Bloody Friday, on the 8th of Mehr 1401 (October 2022), is said to have occurred when after the Friday prayers, some worshippers gathered in protest in front of a police station in the city and were met with direct gunfire from the officers.

Recently, the United Nations fact-finding committee stated in its report that 104 people were killed on this day.
