The UK Lifted All Government Sanctions on Syria

The United Kingdom has lifted all government sanctions on Syria

Today, the UK government announced that all sanctions, including the freezing of assets and economic resources previously imposed on several Syrian government entities during Bashar al-Assad’s regime, will be lifted.

According to this statement, the action includes lifting sanctions on the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, General Intelligence Directorate, Air Force Intelligence, and eight other government entities.

However, the British government has emphasized that the sanctions imposed on individuals affiliated with the former Syrian regime will remain in effect.
