The United Nations reported an escalation in the global water shortage crisis.

According to the World Water Report published on Friday, March 22, 3rd of Farvardin, 2.2 billion people worldwide currently lack access to safe water.

Published statistics indicate that around 3.5 billion people are forced to cope without using sanitary facilities.

This report, prepared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), also indicates that global water consumption is increasing by one percent annually due to population growth, socio-economic developments, and changes in citizens’ habits.
