The United States and the United Kingdom issued more sanctions against Iran
On Thursday, the United States issued additional sanctions against Iran targeting the sale of drones and Iranian goods, including the use of Iranian drones by Russia in the Ukraine war.
On the same day, it was reported that the United Kingdom also added six new names related to individuals and organizations from the defense sector of the Islamic Republic to its sanctions list.
In a statement on Thursday, the spokesperson for the U.S. State Department detailed these new sanctions, stating that the United States is imposing sanctions on 16 entities and 8 individuals, and is also identifying five ships and one aircraft as blocked assets that have facilitated the illegal trade and sale of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in support of Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics and the regime’s drone development and procurement.
The British Foreign Office also states that it has listed six individuals in connection with the production of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles on its sanctions list.
