The U.S. Department of Commerce Revoked the License for Chip Exports to Huawei

The U.S. Department of Commerce has revoked the license to export chips to Huawei.

The U.S. says it has revoked some licenses for exporting chips to Huawei, the Chinese technology giant.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has not specified which licenses have been revoked. This action was taken after Huawei unveiled a computer with artificial intelligence capabilities that uses an Intel-made chip.

The American company Intel did not respond to the BBC’s request for comment on this matter. The BBC has also contacted Huawei and the major chip-making company Qualcomm in San Diego to hear their reactions to this news.

In recent years, the U.S. has imposed restrictions on technology exports to Huawei, citing alleged ties between the company and the Chinese military.

Despite the restrictions imposed by the U.S., Huawei has continued to expand its activities and seems to have experienced growth with the unveiling of its new phone last August.
