The Wall Street Journal: The USS Abraham Lincoln to Leave the Region, USS George Washington to Replace It

The Wall Street Journal reports that the USS Abraham Lincoln is leaving the area and will be replaced by the USS George Washington.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. is deploying the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the West Asia to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, which has been on a naval mission for over 250 days. An American official stated that this replacement is part of a pre-planned rotational program by the Navy.

This decision comes amid growing concerns in the U.S. Congress about the conditions of the Abraham Lincoln’s crew. Several lawmakers have expressed worries about the shortage of essential items, water and facility issues, safety concerns, and the deteriorating mental state of some crew members, and have called for an explanation from the Pentagon.

However, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has dismissed the reports about the poor conditions of this carrier, saying the current situation has been completely misrepresented.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the USS George Washington, which was stationed in the Pacific Ocean, has begun its movement towards its new mission, accompanied by missile destroyers.
