The White House: Russia is seeking a weapons-for-food deal with North Korea
On Thursday, the White House announced it has obtained new evidence indicating that Russia is once again seeking North Korean military weapons to use in the Ukraine war. Washington says Moscow is set to provide food and other essential goods to Pyongyang in exchange for military weapons.
John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, said that as part of this proposed agreement, Russia would receive weapons and ammunition from North Korea.
He emphasized that Russia is looking to send a delegation to North Korea and is set to provide food to the country in exchange for receiving ammunition.
The United States government had previously provided evidence that Iran sold hundreds of attack drones to Russia last summer.
