The White House says Trump and Putin have no plans for a meeting in the near future.
Reuters news agency reported on Tuesday, October 20, quoting a senior White House official, that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, have no plans for a meeting in the near future.
These remarks were made despite Trump having mentioned the possibility of another meeting with his Russian counterpart a few days earlier. Some sources had suggested Budapest as the potential location for this meeting.
The White House official, who wished to remain anonymous, emphasized that the talks between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday were constructive, but announced that these two also have no plans for an in-person meeting.
