The first court session for Mehdi Yarahi was held

Radio Farda wrote that some sources in Iran reported that the first court session for Mehdi Yarahi, a protesting singer in detention, was held on Sunday, September 3rd, in Tehran’s Moral Security Court.

Bahman Babazadeh, a music journalist, wrote on Monday on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, that considering the venue of the trial for Mr. Yarahi’s case, it seems that none of the security agencies are the plaintiffs against this singer, and his case is being directly pursued by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary.

This news has not yet been published in media close to the Iranian government, and there is no precise information available regarding the charges attributed to Mr. Yarahi’s case.

On September 3rd, Mehdi Yarahi released the song ‘Take Off Your Scarf’ and dedicated it to the free women of Iran, who, according to his own writing, shine bravely at the forefront of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement.

This songwriter and singer was arrested three days after releasing this song.
