This year’s October surprise in the U.S. elections might be Iranian.
The October surprise is an inseparable part of U.S. elections, and there is always an event awaiting the candidates in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Since the ominous 1980 election, there hasn’t been an Iranian October surprise, and the story of the American hostages in Iran permanently linked the concept of the October surprise to U.S. elections. The October surprise of the 2016 election was the revelation of an audio tape of Trump admitting to enjoying sexual harassment of women and describing the details of his dirty habits, which, along with the course of action James Comey, the FBI director, took regarding Hillary Clinton’s email case, set October on fire. Comey forever regretted and was disappointed with his behavior towards Hillary and that case, and to make amends, he supported Biden in 2020. This year, in October, if there is a surprise we are already aware of, it might be the release of the film ‘The Apprentice,’ which focuses on Trump’s life in his youth and the expansion of his activities in connection with the infamous and notorious New York figure Roy Cohn. Details of Trump’s misdeeds and inappropriate personal life are clearly depicted in the film. This film is named after Trump’s famous show and received attention at the Cannes Film Festival. Trump’s efforts to delay the film’s release have apparently been unsuccessful, and unless something happens, ‘The Apprentice’ will be released in the U.S. on October 11.

The director of this film is Ali Abbasi, an Iranian-Danish director.
