Threat to Strip Citizenship from Iranian Protesters Abroad
Mohammad Saleh Jokar, head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly’s Councils Commission, has stated that Iranians living abroad who act against the country must bear the consequences of their actions, and it would be better if those who have drawn swords against our country and system have their citizenship revoked.
According to Fars News Agency, he has said that not only in recent events but also in incidents and events of past years, some expatriate Iranians have used all their efforts to carry out terrorist actions and create insecurity in the country. These individuals have always opposed the Islamic Republic and stood against the Iranian nation, and their actions have incurred costs for our people.
Mr. Jokar told Fars News Agency that alongside these individuals, there are also Iranians residing abroad who not only do not act against the security of the country and the system but are always ready to serve their homeland. He added that if they sometimes criticize, their criticism is not out of hostility. He further stated that we welcome the return of these individuals to the country.
