Threatening Iranian Protesters Abroad with Revocation of Citizenship

Threat of Revoking Citizenship for Iranian Protesters Abroad

Mohammad Saleh Jokar, head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly’s Councils Commission, has stated that expatriate Iranians who take action against the country must bear the costs of their actions, and it would be better if those who have drawn swords against our country and system have their citizenship revoked.

According to Fars News Agency, he has said that not only in recent events but also in incidents and events of past years, some expatriate Iranians have made every effort to carry out terrorist actions and create insecurity in the country, and such individuals have always opposed the Islamic Republic and stood against the Iranian people, causing costs for our nation with their actions.

Mr. Jokar told Fars News Agency that alongside these individuals, there are also expatriate Iranians who not only do not take actions against the country’s security and system but are always ready to serve their country. He added that if they sometimes criticize, their criticism is not out of hostility, and we welcome the return of these individuals to the country.
