Three Russian military aircraft intercepted over the Baltic Sea

In a joint operation, German and British fighter jets intercepted three Russian military planes over the Baltic Sea. The President of Ukraine, in light of repeated Russian attacks on civilian targets, called for intensified sanctions against Moscow. The German Air Force announced on the morning of Wednesday, April 26th, that their Eurofighter jets, along with those from Britain, intercepted three Russian military planes over the Baltic Sea. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are three NATO member countries in the Baltic region that do not have fighter jets. Therefore, since 2004, other NATO members have been responsible for protecting the airspace of this part of the Baltic Sea region in northeastern Europe.
