Three Thousand-Year-Old Artifacts Discovered in Gilan

Three-thousand-year-old ancient relics discovered in Gilan

Vali Jahani, the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Gilan, announced the discovery and identification of relics with an estimated age of over 3,000 years in the south of Rasht city.

According to domestic media reports, the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts stated that this discovery was made based on field studies by archaeologists. He noted that the geographical location of these relics is along the route from Rudbar to Rasht, which could indicate the continuous human presence in this area from prehistoric times to historical periods such as the Parthian, Sassanian, and Islamic eras.

According to Jahani, with continued research, it is hoped that more precise and documented information about human life in the Gilan region up to about 3,500 years before Christ can be obtained.
