Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People Gala Held

The Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People gala was held

In this year’s list of Time magazine’s most influential people, names from Iran such as Shervin Hajipour, the singer of the song ‘Baraye’, and Niloofar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi, two imprisoned journalists, are also seen. These two journalists had covered the events and incidents related to the aftermath of Mahsa Amini’s death in their reports.

Salman Rushdie, the renowned author, was another selected influential figure by Time magazine. Mr. Rushdie was attacked with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and neck on August 12th last year, just before starting his speech at the Chautauqua Institution in western New York State. A police official announced shortly after that Hadi Matar, the assailant of Salman Rushdie, is a supporter of extremist Shia groups and the Islamic Republic.
